Springback

This year, on April Fool’s Day,
When clocks are being reset,
Mine will go the opposite way,
Now
Then
When
Tomorrow
Becomes
Yesterday,
All clocks will match other clocks,
Somewhere,
Sometime.

Left Handed Gun

He stood in the street in the heat of the afternoon,
Nobody knew what to expect
From the left handed gun,
Until he whipped it out and fired.
The bullet now roused from its
Kinesthetic rest,
Traveled through the six inch barrel,
The quarter right hand-turn of the riflings
Giving it spin to insure its trajectory
And the hitting of its mark,
A spiral trail of gunsmoke followed the bullet’s head
That swam in slow motion like a tadpole going upstream.

Down the street another gunner stood
With his back to the sun,
He felt the bow-shock of the bullet
As it whizzed by his head.
He slowly raised his pistol
And stroked the barrel,
Caressing it with his fingers,
Blowing the smoke off the end,
Until it went limp in his hand
And he put it back in its holster.

Out of Range

This is really a weird day.
Maybe because Mercury is in retrograde.
I am on the lookout for karmic pitfalls.
A T’ai Chi student last night asked if I would be interested in writing a book on T’ai Chi.
Her boyfriend works for a well known publishing house.
Solar flares of ego shot out of my brain.
Reality set in.
I fleshed out an outline of chapters.
It could be done.
Should I do it in DaVinci Code Style?
Mention the Grateful Dead and cash in on gullible deadheads?
I forgot my checkbook and it’s Kiwanis Pancake Day.
I’m about as in tune as a cat’s whisker boy-scout radio.
This is crazy.

Disequilibrium

Out on the Savannah
Punctuated equilibrium
Early hominids ciphering?
Language and mathematics go hand in hand, (Chomsky)
One developing the other,
Intertwined like the DNA that binds them,
Millennia later Kerouac claims that
Even stars are words,
And then Sagan says they are
Mathematical formulae,
Proving the point equilibrium theory? (Gould)
No, because there is no equilibrium or equalization process,
There is disequilibrium and chaos,
Out on the Savannah,
Two individuals hold hands in the harsh moonlight,
Another walks by them and stumbles,
"Klutz"
The first laugh?
