Lenten Vision March 9, 2014

     Yesterday, as I took Communion (by Intinction), I accidentally dropped the wafer into the wine. The attendant told me to "Just leave it," but I couldn't. I reached into the goblet and fished out the wafer, put it into my mouth and began to turn and make my way back to my seat in the pew.
     Suddenly there was a bright light and I looked first at my fingers and thumb of my right hand and noticed that they were stained with blood. I then looked up at the Cross towering above me. Some men were bringing Jesus down from the Cross and as his right arm dropped from the Limb of the Cross, I saw a drop of blood fall from his fingers and thumb. I followed it as it fell in slow motion and then there was another flash of light as it fell into the Chalice, The Holy Grail was before me and in it I saw the reflection of the Crucified Christ in the Blood that was in the Grail. A voice then said to me, "Stephen, take and eat," and I looked to see who had said this. A lady stood before me holding the Grail and at that instant I knew that it was Mary Magdalene. She pushed my hand over to the now deposed Body of Christ and I touched his right hand and fingers with my right hand and fingers. Then she pushed the Grail before me and said to me, "Stephen, drink this. This is the New Covenant in the Blood of the Lamb." I raised the Grail to my lips and drank as I looked into her eyes, then watched as Jesus was taken away.
     I was then back in the Church heading back to my seat in the pew and sat down, staring at my fingers and thumb. I stuck them into my mouth and tasted Blood. I looked back at the others who were taking Holy Communion, then I turned and walked out of the Sanctuary.
