Unclear About Chaos?

Chaos is everywhere, you just have to know where to look for it.

Senior Student Of The Week

Beady eyes, sweat pouring off, caught going after a cold beer
Trashed the Tom Petty shirt later in the day
Harry Hansen type straw hat
Working for Weedeaters for Christ
Arms akimbo
A Dylan tune in his head:
“Thinkin’ about Rosemary and thinkin’ about the Law”
Unseen copy of Howl on the breakfast table
Might be drunk on new wine
But it’s only nine o’clock
Out on the Voynich octogon deck
The two new cats, Konichiwa and Tachimo
Float in languid levitation
The dogs are out chasing dinosaurs
Nowhere to be seen
Vultures hover over the neighbor’s house
From a quarter mile away can’t tell if they’re dead or not
Pursed lips ponder the question
“Are you humble before God?”
Doesn’t know the answer.
Favorite food: French fries but won’t eat them
Favorite rock group: The Economy Studs
Favorite beer: Mickey’s Big Mouth, of course
Club affiliation: No Club, Lone Wolf
Favorite quote: You can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish. REO Speedwagon
Tombstone Epitaph: Chaos is everywhere if you know where to look for it.

Deposition II

So you thought that you might get away
From the crushing crowds?
You should have known that
Seventy business men can’t be wrong,
It was a corporate decision that they had to make
They just had to find a way to do it,
It only takes one stooge
To put the other two in motion,
So they played the cosmic game to the hilt
Passing you off from one to the other,
Until there was nothing left to do
But raise you up above the crowd
Where you could see them all,
It would have been better for them
To have spirited you away,
Instead, you did the job yourself,
Now we have to get you down from
Your vantage point
The tallest tree in the valley,
How to do it?
There were five men seen
Carrying a great fish nearby
Maybe they can help.

Deposition

There is always that fear
That what you have said before
Will require you to defend
A position
That you may or may not
Have perfectly described
And besides,
They took you so long ago
How can your words relieve you?

Then having to recall, year after year
All that you know, and more
On which will depend
A condition
That may or may not
Require you to be bribed
From the inside,
When you don’t have anything left to show
Do you think anyone would still believe you?

Now your judgement day is near
You must try to restore
The beginning from the end
The situation
That may or may not
Be just as you descried
On the outside,
When they took you down so low
Why did you let them all deceive you?

Eglantine

Sitting on the deck of the gazebo
Sniffing the bouquet of a glass of Shiraz
Watching the legs run down the glass
Spilling the blood red wine on the
Brightness of teeth
Laughing at it pouring out of the
Corners of the mouth
Falling on the wooden deck
Staining it forever
Throwing the head back
Tipping over backwards in the spring chair
Headlong into the Yellow Rose of Texas
Jumping up with thorns in the crown
Shiraz colored blood rolling down the face
In red goblets
Caught in the palm of the hand
Dripping onto the feet
Looking out over the valley
A rooster crows.

Melancholy

In church yesterday
The discussion was
Whether or not
Chipmunks
Were on Noah’s ark
Or were they created
After the Flood?

Reflecting on this
Later that afternoon:
Falling in and out of polyphasic sleep
A dream of Munch’s painting
Magnetic rain clinging to the trees
A rainbow appears
Chipmunks run out on the lawn
Somewhere a person screams
Holding their ears
Polychrome windows leaking colors
Onto the floor
Where the cat licks them up
The rainbow disappearing
Behind the door
You fall into melancholia
After reading a rhyming pattern
Into the afternoon

“Why don’t you put on your smoking jacket?
Leather slippers
Light up a pipe
Of Old Philosopher
While you translate the Qumran scrolls?
Or have the dog bring in the paper?”

There is green mold on the outside of the house
A piece of plaster
Falls on the premier guitar with the broken nut
Water begins pouring in
Through all the doors and windows
Après le Deluge
The dog comes in and shakes the water off
Laying a chipmunk at your feet.

Asymptotic Chaos?

I thrive on chaos.
-- Darjeeling

Synergy?
The universe expanding
Beyond all understanding
Humans with no humility
Engaged in asymptotic futility
The cosmic constant is the obverse of gravitation?

What we need to do is embrace Einstein’s famous equation
Realize that we are moving at the speed of light and can exceed that velocity

Navigational reciprocity,
What would Jesus do about dark energy?
