The Death of Alvie Nash

There’s a little cemetery on top of a hill
Forty, fifty graves is all,
Turkey and deer and an occasional hiker
Leave tracks in the snow,
A man named Nash is buried there,
Dead of cyanide poisoning back in 1931,
Followed a man named Jack to Kansas City
Got lost and was found behind a building,
Clutching an orange soda,
Foaming at the mouth,
Smelling of almonds,
Ruled a suicide back in ’31,
But who knows?
